TRANSGRESSION
Transgression is a series of works by Kate Baker, which culminated in a solo exhibition at Gaffa Gallery, Sydney, 16 – 28 July 2009.
This body of works explores textures derived from industrial and natural environments blending with dreamlike figures, often in a state of flux, to develop a series of visual narratives, which speak of being both the witness and the witnessed.
Transgression refers to ideas oft transition and the individual’s journey from innocence to the awareness of something darker and more powerful, either within their selves of their surroundings.
