CIPHER
Kate Baker created a large series of works titled Cipher, which culminated in a solo exhibition at Bullseye Gallery, Portland, Oregon USA, 5 October – 26 November 2011. Several of the works were also exhibited by Bullseye Gallery at the SOFA Chicago Art Fair 2011.
A series of nine works, this exhibition explores the dichotomy of the individual as both at once connected and detached from others and their environment.
Through the use of digital code and the layering of cultural and textural imagery, this body of works explores the individual’s relationship with their environment and the inescapable influences the external world has on the self.
